Don’t get Peanut Butter in your Mouse

Don’t get Peanut Butter in your Mouse

All of a sudden my mouse stopped working. I was not happy at all. I just got this new Gaming Mouse last year and it wasn’t cheap. I just didn’t know what to do. I was in the middle of doing something in Photoshop. It took me about an hour when I took a look at the bottom of my Mouse. I had been eating a peanut butter sandwich and low and behold there was peanut butter in that hole where the laser light comes out. At first I used a needle and got the biggest part out and then I used a Q Tip and cleaned the rest of it out. Thank goodness.

Vice President Pence Speaks

Vice President Pence Speaks

"Tax Cuts to Put America First"

I was invited to meet Vice President Pence today at the Westin hotel around O’Hare airport. I got there early so I would be able to get a seat in the ballroom where it was held.  I pulled up in my car and found out that they charge $24 to park my car for 4 hrs. What the hell. That’s insane. I have a handicap parking card but I didn’t see any handicap spaces around anywhere. Isn’t that illegal? I didn’t know what to do so I went across the street into this other hotel parking lot. Thank goodness I found a Handicap space.

When I got to the Westin hotel at 9:30 there was a line already. The doors opened at 10:30. That was a long wait but I passed the time by talking to the people.

The guy in back of me had run for congress here in Illinois in the past. One of the press came by and interviewed him. When it was time to enter the ballroom we had to empty our pockets and go through a metal detector. I walked in and saw that the Press was setting up their cameras.

It was a good hour and a half before it got started at 12:30.

When it did start the moderator introduced Congressman Adam Kinzinger. He talked about the new Tax Cuts. Then they brought up two business people. All four of them sat down and had a discussion about the new Tax Cuts that President has put in place.

The next person to step up to the podium was Governor Bruce Rauner. He registered a “D” on the applause meter. I didn’t like him the first time he ran for Governor. All though I am Republican and I did vote in the general primary election on March 20, 2018 this time, I didn’t even cast a vote for him.

He didn’t talk long and he finally introduced Vice President Mike Pence. Everyone stood up and gave him a big round of applause. The people really liked him and so do I. He talked about all the things the Trump administration has accomplished and about the Tax Cuts.

The Vice President was interrupted 5 times though his speech by those Trump haters who somehow got inside. The Secret Survive and the Police jumped in fast and escorted the guy out. Everybody started yelling “USA, USA, USA.” Then Pence would start his speech again and another Trump hater would start it all over again.

The police got that guy out while everybody yelled “USA, USA.” Poor Pence, I thought he would never get a chance to speak. The Trump haters must have had it planned to interrupt the Vice President all through his speech but it didn’t stop Pence. I think they finally got all of them out of there and the Vice President went on to deliver a great speech.

After it was all over, I went over to the Rivers Casino which is right down the street about a mile away. The only thing was I had to take a big detour because the Police had all the streets around the Westin Hotel completely blocked off and closed. I had to go up to one of the Police and ask him how to get out of there.

I haven’t been to the Rivers Casino in years but I was glad I went. There are 5 crap tables. That’s my game. I didn’t stay long and picked up a fast $40. That felt good. I had a ball today and I am glad I went. I just wish I could have had my picture taken with the Vice President.

Purple Poop

Purple Poop

So I go to the Food Pantry a couple of weeks ago. That was great. They gave me a shopping cart full of food. One of the items was a large bag of dehydrated Blue Berries. “What am I going to do with all these  dried-up Blue Berries,” I asked myself. After a couple of days went by, I went on the internet to see what I could do with this huge bag of Blue Berries. They say that if you soak them in hot water for 20 minutes they will re-hydrate, so that's what I did. After 20 minutes I put them in the refrigerator. The next morning I fixed a bowl of Cheerios. Instead of sprinkling it with sugar, I put a whole bunch of Blue Berries on top. Although the Blue Berries never plumped up like they were when they were fresh, they still tasted good, so for the next 3 days I had my cheerios with loads of Blue Berries on top. It works great to keep you regular but when I looked I saw that my stool had turned a different color I Had Purple Poop. I got right on the internet and looked to see if something was wrong with me. They said it was normal. You eat Blue Berries and you get Purple Poop. Whew!! I was glad to hear that. I still have ¾ of a bag of that stuff and I intend to use them on my Cheerios. I hope they give me dried up Straw Berries the next time.

First Hand Account of the Gulf of Tonkin Combat Mission Aug 5th 1964

This is a firsthand account of Commander Nottingham’s first combat mission in the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam on Aug 5th 1964 and the first combat mission of the Vietnam War.

I took this photo of a couple of my friends that I worked with and helped hook up Commander Nottingham’s aircraft to the catapult and launched him off the deck of the USS Constellation CVA64 in his A4 Skyhawk.

Lieutenant (Junior grade) Alvarez in his A4 Skyhawk was the first pilot I hooked up to Catapult #1 before we launched him off the carrier. Little did we know that he would be the first pilot to be shot down in the Vietnam War. He lived but spent eight years and seven months of brutal captivity by the North Vietnamese at the Hỏa Lò Prison known as the "Hanoi Hilton. The Captain of the USS Constellation came on the speaker later on and told all of us what had happened.

One of my best friends passed away this morning.

One of my best friends passed away this morning. Dorene Belli was one of the funniest persons I have even come across. With all the stuff that was wrong with her she never complained. I first met her when she started coming to our Disability support group many years ago that was held every Tuesday at the Schaumburg Township. She used to be a nurse at the Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village but had to go on disability because of her illness.
Here is a picture of us out on a luncheon date several years ago. We were all such good friends and she always kept us laughing. Dorene is on the far right. I am in the middle and Linda who is another good friend is on the left. I am so sad that she has left us. She was a wonderful girl.
