I got this email yesterday from the Grand
Victoria Casino saying that if I was a veteran that they would give me a complimentary
Burger at their PRIME Burgerhouse today. I had planned on staying home but I
couldn’t turn down a free meal so I went.
When I got to the casino around noon, I played
a little craps. It was a $5 table and I took it easy. It was fun. I had won
+$41 and I was getting hungry. With the
gas prices at $2.09 here, that would fill up my tank twice so I was happy with
what I won. The table was getting too crowded any way and that’s a recipe for disaster,
at least in my case it is.
After I left the table, I went to the PRIME
burgerhouse. In the email it said that I had to bring proof that I was a
veteran. So I printed out a copy of my DD214 and brought it with me. I told the
girl at the restaurant about the email I got. She asked me for something that
would tell I was a veteran. I pulled out my service record and she just glanced
at it and seated me right away. I ordered this burger; here I’ll show it to
you.
I haven’t had a burger in years. This burger
was fantastic, I mean it was really good and the fries were awesome. I was
stuffed when I got through. I guess I blew the diet that I was on but I was glad
that everything turned out right for me this Veterans Day.
ps: This wasn't meant to be an Ad. I just wanted to to tell you how I spent this Veterans Day.
