Vice President Pence Speaks
"Tax Cuts to Put
America First"
I was
invited to meet Vice President Pence today at the Westin hotel around O’Hare airport.
I got there early so I would be able to get a seat in the ballroom where it was
held. I pulled up in my car and found
out that they charge $24 to park my car for 4 hrs. What the hell. That’s
insane. I have a handicap parking card but I didn’t see any handicap spaces
around anywhere. Isn’t that illegal? I didn’t know what to do so I went across
the street into this other hotel parking lot. Thank goodness I found a Handicap
space.
When I got to the Westin hotel at 9:30 there was
a line already. The doors opened at 10:30. That was a long wait but I passed
the time by talking to the people.
The guy in back of me had run for congress
here in Illinois in the past. One of the press came by and interviewed him. When
it was time to enter the ballroom we had to empty our pockets and go through a
metal detector. I walked in and saw that the Press was setting up their
cameras.
It was a
good hour and a half before it got started at 12:30.
When it did
start the moderator introduced Congressman Adam Kinzinger. He talked about the new
Tax Cuts. Then they brought up two business people. All four of them sat down and
had a discussion about the new Tax Cuts that President has put in place.
The next person to step up to the podium was
Governor Bruce Rauner. He registered a “D” on the applause meter. I didn’t like
him the first time he ran for Governor. All though I am Republican and I did
vote in the general primary election on March 20, 2018 this time, I didn’t even
cast a vote for him.
He didn’t
talk long and he finally introduced Vice President Mike Pence. Everyone stood
up and gave him a big round of applause. The people really liked him and so do
I. He talked about all the things the Trump administration has accomplished and
about the Tax Cuts.
The Vice President
was interrupted 5 times though his speech by those Trump haters who somehow
got inside. The Secret Survive and the Police jumped in fast and escorted the
guy out. Everybody started yelling “USA, USA, USA.” Then Pence would start his
speech again and another Trump hater would start it all over again.
The police
got that guy out while everybody yelled “USA, USA.” Poor Pence, I thought he
would never get a chance to speak. The Trump haters must have had it planned to
interrupt the Vice President all through his speech but it didn’t stop Pence. I
think they finally got all of them out of there and the Vice President went on
to deliver a great speech.
After it was all over, I went over to the
Rivers Casino which is right down the street about a mile away. The only thing
was I had to take a big detour because the Police had all the streets around
the Westin Hotel completely blocked off and closed. I had to go up to one of the
Police and ask him how to get out of there.
I haven’t been to the Rivers Casino in years
but I was glad I went. There are 5 crap tables. That’s my game. I didn’t stay
long and picked up a fast $40. That felt good. I had a ball today and I am glad
I went. I just wish I could have had my picture taken with the Vice President.
