When was the last time someone yelled at you?

When was the last time someone yelled at you?

Well it’s only happened to me 2 times in the last 36 years. Once was in 2009 when I was at the Grand Victoria casino. The shift manager started yelling at me when I set the dice at the craps table. We got into it. Not to long after that the dealers told me they fired him.  I don’t take credit for him being fired but he was crazy. He was on everybody’s ass for setting the dice. When he was yelling at me he told me that he made this sign just for me that he had set up at the craps tables.

The only other time someone yelled at me was yesterday. I stopped off at the Jewel food store to get some turkey at the deli. Well I walked up and took a number. The deli guy was helping one other guy. So I waited. There was nobody else at the deli counter. When the deli guy got through with the last person he called out #4. He was right in front of me and I said, “I have number 12.” Well all of a sudden this old women standing way back from the deli counter started yelling at me and then this old man starts in on me too. “Oh I’m sorry I didn’t see you,” I told them. But this old bitch kept yelling at me. I repeated myself and told the old women, “I didn’t see you.” But she kept on and on yelling at me. The old guy yelled a little more. I didn’t try and cut in line it’s just that they were standing about 15 feet back from the deli counter and I didn’t notice them. This old women would not shut up. All of a sudden I had this flash back of my x-wife yelling at me when I was married 37 years ago. I looked at those insane people and told them, “You guys are all crazy,” and grabbed my cart and got the hell out of there. I never did get my turkey until today. This time I went to another Jewel food store and got my turkey.

The Four Freedoms

2020 has to be one of the worse years with this Covid virus still going around. Thank goodness I haven’t gotten it. They came out with a vaccine but they haven’t gotten it out to the public yet.  Since my last post I haven’t gone anywhere except for my exercise class. All the casinos are closed so I don’t get to see any of my friends. I have been all by myself for months and months

Well Trump got voted out of office. I can’t believe Joe Biden is going to be President. The only good thing is that they are going to give out $2,000 checks to everybody. After that this country is going to go to down the drain. Everything that President Trump built up the Democrats plan on tearing down. Biden’s mind is going so he won’t last long and then Kamala  Harris will move up from vice president to President. Lord help us all if that happens.

I have to have a colonoscopy in February but I am all by myself and I can’t find anyone who could take me to the hospital for my test. I am getting stressed out about that.

They had a riot in Washington DC and stormed the Capital building. Everybody is crazy. I don’t know why people do things like that. I just want everything to go back to the way it used to be. I remember Norman Rockwell’s  “Four Freedom” paintings. Those were the good old days. That’s  the way I want it to be.

“Thanks Kids”

While I am still dealing with the double vision, I had my car to think about. The lease ended on June 27th. I was so stressed out. I was so worried that I wouldn’t have a car for the rest of my life. I couldn’t live locked away in my apartment with no way of getting around. The country was still on lock down from the Covid virus. So the government gave us $1,200 plus they gave us another $195 in food stamps. That really helped out. I saved that and with the help of my kids I was able to buy the car I was leasing. Its 3 years old but it only has 18,000 miles on it.  It’s still like a brand new car. That really took the stress off of me. “Thanks Kids” Now if I can get my eye back to normal again.

On Aug 5th 2020 I turned 75. I am not happy that I have gotten old. Then I thought of it another way. At least I am still alive. I know a lot of my friends that didn’t even make it this far. I started thinking how much longer do I have? My exercise class finally opened back up so I am going to my exercise class 3x’s a week now. Man was I out of shape because of the Covid virus lock down. Exercise is what keeps me going. Everything was closed for months. Everybody still have to wear a mask. I sure hope they find a vaccine pretty soon.

June Came With A Surprise

Well June came with another surprise for me. On June 4th I suddenly started getting double vision. I didn’t know what was happening to me. I didn’t know if I was having a stroke or what. So I got in my car and YEAh, I drove to the emergency room at the hospital. They gave me a CAT scan and an MRI of my head. They didn’t see anything, which was good. At least I wasn’t having a stroke. But they did put me in the hospital for 2 days. My eye lid started to close up and by the time I got home I couldn’t open it up.

The eye doctor came in and examined me. The doctor told me I had 3rd Nerve Palsy. My right eye was paralyzed. My good eye would look straight ahead but my bad right eye looked in a different direction. It made me nauseous. The eye doctor put tape over the right side of the lens of my glasses. Now I could see with a single image instead of having double vision. They told me that my eye would be back to normal in 3 weeks. Well it has been 80 days as of today. My eye lid did open back up again but I still have double vision. It is starting to get better but I think it will be another three months before it gets back to normal at least I HOPE it will. I will be devastated if it stays this way for the rest of my life. Last year I came down with Bell’s palsy. My whole right side of my face was paralyzed. Nobody can tell me why this keeps happening to me.

The nurses were nice to me while I was in the hospital but they had my legs wrapped in some kind of contraption that inflates with air and then deflates again. It kept doing that the whole 2 days I was in there. It was hard to sleep with that going all the time. I had a heart attack in 1995 so they didn’t want me to get any blood clots in my legs. I hated that feeling of my legs being squeezed constantly. They also had wires hooked up to my chest to monitor my heart. Since I have Sleep Apnea,  I have to be hooked up at night with a BiPap machine so I don’t stop breathing while I am sleeping. The nurses kept me in diapers and changed me the whole time I was in the hospital. I have been incontinent ever since the VA cut away some of the muscle around my  bladder opening back in 1985. I was having leaking problems so they said they could fix that. Well they didn’t. Then they told me that I had Multiple Sclerosis.

Anyway the doctors at the hospital wanted me to stay longer but I wanted to go back to my apartment. They told me they could have a medical vehicle drive me back to my apartment and they told me how much it would cost. “Holy Cow,” I said, “I have my car in the parking lot. They couldn’t believe I drove myself to the hospital. They weren’t going to let me drive myself back home. I argued and told them that the eye doctor taped up the right lenses of my glasses so I have a single image now. I finally convinced them to let me out of there. When I got the bill some weeks later they had charged Medicare $21,800 for the 2 days I was in the hospital. My potion was around $475 but I filed for financial assistance. But there are still a lot of doctor bills that I still have to pay. Can you imagine how much it would have been if they kept me in the hospital.

A Day in My Life

A Day in My Life

May 1st Illinois mandates that everybody in Illinois has to wear a mask in public. So today I went to the bank to pay all my bills. I put on my mask and walk up to the bank. The bank is locked. I get in my car and use the drive up. I get my money and go to the post office. It’s a good thing that Target made me buy some masks because one guy tried to walk in without a mask and they would not let him in. As soon as I got in the car I took off my mask. I don’t know how it happened but somehow my hearing aid got caught up in my mask and I lost it. I retraced my steps and after about 20 minutes thank god I found it. I would surely hate to lose that. I hate those masks. I can’t breathe in those things.

My dealer emails me today and asked if I was still looking for a car. Since it is the beginning of May, I asked him if they had any new incentives this month. He said, “Looks like rebates are still the same. How is the down payment looking?”  I told him, “I got my down payment up to $1,500.” His reply was “Okay, I think the best thing to wait until payments are up that way we aren't rolling anything over.” So I guess I’ll see what happens going into June.

With the Corona virus “Stay at Home Order”, I have to get my exercise. After I got through doing my bills, I did my exercises. I live in a 5 story condo building. I walk down each hallway and then go up to the next floor until I reach the 5th floor and then repeat it all the way down again. I do this 6 days out of a week. I sure wish everything would open up again so I could get back to my Community Recreation Center where they have all the machines and I can be with people once again. Man am I getting fat. I have been eating too much.
